Whether it's planting flowers, pulling weeds, searching for worms, building mud mountains or making mud pies, dirt is part of mother nature's classroom. Squishing, patting, pinching and pulling keep little fingers active and strong while toting and dumping buckets of dirt or buckets of water provide a gross motor workout. Don't worry about the mess. Kids are washable. Encourage kids to go outside, get dirty, play, learn, and have fun!
