Keeping Fingers Strong with the Squirt of a Bottle

In order for a child to hold and manipulate a pencil or a pair of scissors, they must have strong finger muscles.  Like any muscle, the finger muscles need to be kept active to stay strong.  One fun way for little ones to work their small muscles is using a squirt bottle.  Over the next 10 days we'll be sharing child-friendly activities for a finger workout while having fun.

Day one:

Heading to the pool?  Pack along a squirt bottle.  While on break from swimming, kids can practice writing their name or drawing water pictures on the pool deck.  Make it a game to see how many letters or numbers they can "paint" before the sun dries the water.
