The airport obsession continues in my classroom. Talking about planes, books on planes, acting as planes, drawing planes, talking about planes and building of airports. Today it moved to the block area. That in itself is not unusual. We are building with blocks and block like items constantly. What was amazing to watch was the sharing of knowledge. As Airplane Boy finished his airport fully stocked with planes and cars, Boy 2 arrived to enjoy the fruit of his friend's labor Instead of yelling the expected "No, it's mine...mine..mine!" Airplane Boy turned to his friend and simply said "Let me show you."
With those simple words long, involved play began. With those words, a friendship grew deeper. With those words, knowledge was passed on and received. With those words, two little boys grew up just a little more.
